has expressed concerns regarding the increasing incidents of local youths stealing household wheelybins and setting them on fire. This antisocial act is also a dangerous one with youths at risk of severe burns if molten plastic touches their skin, and the inhalation of toxic fumes given off by the plastic. The Group has requested assistance from the community Police.

(recognised by Parliament during the first lockdown), from last week is able to give a wee bit of extra help for all of Livingston, Mid Calder, East Calder and Pumphersto­n.

If you are or you know someone who is elderly, a single parent or someone with mobility issues or anyone who is struggling to cope during this situation for whatever reason we are here to help safely and discreetly in any way we can safely from doing shopping, limited emergency repairs, retrieving prescripti­ons, walking dogs, and any other ways we can try and help you through this.

We also have a winter maintenanc­e volunteer team to help people who want to get out but are struggling to get out due to ice or snow, this team have already been making a great difference to the community in the last fortnight.

RIVERSIDE COMMUNITY FRIDGE

The Riverside Community Fridge is a free resource open to all in the Craigshill community .

The fridge enables us to redistribu­te food which would otherwise go to waste. All kinds of food are available including fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy, processed and longlife foods. We are in Riverside Community Wing, Maree Walk, Craigshill EH54 5BP, open every Thursday and Friday from 9.30-12.30. Bring a bag and wear a mask. Contact 431430.

Further to the most recent announceme­nt made by the Scottish Government, Almond HA will now be running an emergency and urgent only repairs service until further notice.

Some planned works can continue. If you have planned works or a repair already organised or reported to us then we will be in contact with you to advise where this work cannot proceed.
