Have been holding their monthly open meetings online.

The speaker for the March meeting was Jim Brand from Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance who told us all about the work of the organisati­on. The next meeting will take place online on Wednesday, April 21 at 2pm when the speaker will be our own member, Linda Gilbert, who will talk about the Bronte Sisters.

A number of our other groups such as quiz, book readers, ukulele, history and science are continuing to meet online and some such as walking and appreciati­on/ garden visits, meet online to chat about what they have been doing or seeing. BINNY GOLF CLUB

It’s been a long time since we were open to visitors, due to the snow, restrictio­ns etc. We are opening up again to visitors, with tee times from 1-4pm weekdays. Two players per tee time.

Visitors from West Lothian only, due to travel restrictio­ns. Tee times can be booked 4 days in advance or less. Restrictio­ns will not be around forever. We now have an additional greenkeepe­r and up to date machinery.

There will be reshaped fairways and new aprons and approaches to the greens featuring this year, to keep things fresh. With great prices from £11 for 9 holes and £17 for 18 holes we can’t wait to welcome you. Bookings must be made in advance. Opening of the green will be on Saturday, May 1 2021 at 2pm. New members are welcome.

Membership fees are due now. As per the club policy no-one is allowed on the green unless fees have been paid.

We ask for your co-operation in this matter. Membership fees for this year will remain the same as last year.

Full bowling members 18yrs to 64yrs £50, Social members – 18yrs to 64yrs £30, Senior bowling 65yrs+ £35, Senior social 65yrs + £10, Youth Bowler 16/17yrs £15, Junior Bowler up to 16yrs £1.

We would appreciate where possible that members pay fees by bank transfer if not then by cheque.

Ecclesmach­an and Threemilet­own Community Council will for the meantime be meeting online.

CARERS OF WEST LOTHIAN

They are using zoom to run these groups while there’s social-distancing restrictio­ns in place.

Normally, the evening group meet in Bathgate and the morning group, in Livingston.

SMILE

Lockdown Project - Middletonh­all Nursing Home is looking for local people to support the Smile Centre Community garden and donate anything in a pot. Herbs, flowers, shrubs any types of seeds for planting out also cuttings from your own garden if resources are low.

It’s to breathe colour and life and smell around the residents.

WEST LOTHIAN ART

Is a group of enthusiast­ic amateur artists who meet regularly to paint, draw and chat in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere on Tuesday evenings between 7pm and 9pm in Uphall Community Education Centre. Cancelled until further notice.
