- ALMONDELL AND CALDERWOOD COUNTRY PARK

The R75 path in Almondell between Mid Calder and the Pipe Bridge is now closed to allow for major works and a fish pass project on the Mid Calder Weir. The path will be closed for up to 16 weeks, with completion estimated for December 7 . Diversion is by pavement for pedestrian­s and by road for cyclists from Mid Calder to the South Entrance. Apologies for any convenienc­e this causes but this will be a great future improvemen­t for the river Almond.

PILATES

MILITARY MUSEUM, LINBURN

This Triple award winning Military Museum Scotland is 100% staffed by volunteers and we are always on the lookout for more.

We need volunteers to help out, not just on the normalopen­ing hours of the museum, but also to help with the many events we have throughout the year.

Do you have what it takes to be a volunteer? Do you have time on your hands to help Military Museum Scotland. You do not have to be ex military to volunteer, but you do have to be keen and willing to become part of our family of volunteers.

We are looking for many skills and experience­s but an interest in military things would be desirable. We are holding a volunteer open day on Saturday September 18 from 10.302.30pm. Come along and find out more about volunteeri­ng at Military Museum Scotland and have a chat with some of our volunteers. If you think you have what it takes, please pop into the museum on the 18th. YOGA

Sukha Yoga has restarted so time to get back on your mat. We are following Covid

guidelines (as they change. We access the building through the fire exit near the carpark so we don’t need to go through the building.

The room is spacious and the door and windows are left open for ventilatio­n. Sanitiser is provided.

Everyone must bring their own mats and any other yoga equipment they might need. If you have any concerns please give Ruth a call on 0776777704­4. Yoga Sessions are held on Wednesdays from 7- 8.30pm in the Dave King Partnershi­p Centre. Cost £6 per session or book 5 sessions for £25. A cashless basis is being offered at the moment, due to covid, so please can you to confirm bookings by pre-paying for your class.

MUSIC4U

Music4u is for people with dementia and their carers and meets on the third

Wednesday of each month from 2-3.30pm in Carmondean Community Complex, Fells Rigg, Carmondean (church section). It begins with afternoon tea then musical activities delivered by people with experience in dementia and with musical training. It’s great fun and aimed at giving people with dementia an added quality to their life. No cost and open to everyone in west Lothian.
