KAREN STEWART 01506 882880 KAREN136WLC@YAHOO.CO.UK FOOTBALL FOR KIDS

We have a really great opportunity for kids age 3-16 to take part in a football class for 5 weeks starting in November. Technical, tactical, social, psychological and physical skills will be taught within these classes and the aim is to bridge the gap between grass root and professional levels of football.

Whether your child is only just getting started or already have some skills then this is a really good chance for them to get some professional coaching. This will be funded by KCDT through the Big Lottery fund .

If you think your child would be interested then please get in touch. , Initial class days/times would be as follows: Mondays 5.30-6.30 (3-5 years) and 6:307:30 (10-12 years). Wednesdays 5:30-6.30 ( 6-9 years) and

6:30-7:30 ( 13-16 years) Spaces are

limited so if you are interested then get in touch quick.

This will be held at the Kirknewton pavilion/pitch

REUSE AND THRIVE

Our “Reuse and Thrive” community led shop in East Calder is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10-2pm at, 148 Main Street, East Calder (opposite the Dave King Partnership Centre). The shop has a wide range of inexpensive good quality pre-loved clothes, toys, books and household items. Pop in and have a look. We also have the “free items table” outside where you are welcome to pick up anything you want and perhaps pop in for a visit. Loads of free cookbooks too.

If you have things to donate please get in touch with the page and we will arrange a suitable date for you to drop stuff off or we can arrange to collect it from you. In the meantime our wonderful volunteers will be processing our current back log and refreshing the shelves in the shop. We have new things on the shelves every week and at the moment new things just about daily.

TODDLER GROUP

The toddler group that ran in Kirknewton Church Hall had to close due to Covid, volunteers, kids going to school now etc . It’s such a shame as we feel there is a need for this in the village , with the support of Kirknewton Community Trust, would there be any volunteers/ parents willing to try and get this back up and running? We have the option of 4 decent sized spaces, we just need the commitment of some volunteers. If you would be interested, please phone the Green Room on 01506 883988.

GREEN ROOM

The Green Room is open, for tea/coffee, a chat, printing, some books to read, whatever the reason we are here from 9am-1pm Monday to Thursday. Social distancing still applies so please bear that in mind if your popping along. The larder is still open on Thursdays 9am-1pm.

You can hire the Green Room for £10 per hour for meetings, parties, classes. As restrictions ease more people will be allowed in. The E-Bikes can be hired from the shop and we now have 3 bikes available for hire.

We are currently looking to get the return of the youth club, we would like your opinion on whether there is a need for it in Kirknewton, or would you prefer ad hoc all age based activities?
