A talented West Lothian singer is hoping to take the music world and become the next Destiny’s Child.

Chloe Gaffney (21), from Bellsquarry in Livingston is a member of all-new girl group, Calyco

She said she has been pursuing a singing career since she was seven and hopes the band will break through with their debut single,‘LMK’, which stands for ‘Let Me Know’.

She said:“We are a fresh new five-piece pop/R’n’B girl group based in the UK. While we strive for and admire Little Mix’s success however we are very different.

“We came together organically during lockdown and are trying to bring a something fresh to the girlband world.

“Musically, our biggest influences would be Destiny’s Child and TLC. We love the RnB sound which you can hear in our new R’n’B/Drill track, LMK.

“LMK”stands for‘Let Me Know’and is a song about asking why somebody would ever want to break your heart. We love R’n’B/drill music and wanted to create something original and fun. It’s a catchy chorus will have anyone asking‘let me know why you broke my heart’.”

Chloe said she had singing lessons in Livingston for 10 years and went to Stage Coach in Edinburgh for two years.

When she was 18 she was scouted by her now manager onYouTube and invited her to an audition for a girlband in London.

A few months later she moved to London and has been working on Calyco ever since.

Chloe added:“With five lead singers and 5 strong personalities, Calyco write and perform our own songs.

“We provide quality rnb/pop music, diversity and are positive role models for a younger and older audience.”
