and Money Advice Project This Citizens Advice Bureau project (PIMAP) adopts a holistic approach to assisting pregnant mothers and families with preschool children.

We provide advice, support and advocacy on a wide range of areas, predominat­ely benefits, welfare rights, housing, maternity rights and pay, employment rights and debt advice. HMRC PROJECT

This Citizens Advice Bureau project aims to assist clients with HMRC enquiries from

Personal Tax to Tax Credits. The project adviser can assist clients to contact HMRC, assistance to use and navigate HMRC online services, liaise with HMRC with more complex cases and offer support to individual­s in dealing with their own Tax Affairs.

MONEY TALKS PROJECT

This Citizens Advice Bureau project aims to assist people in financial need and enable them to maximize their income and reduce expenses. Our project focuses on families with children and people approachin­g, or over retirement age, but we will accept referrals from any West Lothian resident. We have specialist advisers offering full financial health checks, making

We meet at Toronto Primary School Community Wing for Beavers (age 6 to 8yrs) on

Thursdays at 6.30-7.30pm, Cubs (age 8 to 10yrs) on Mondays at 6.30- 8pm and Scouts (age 10 to 14yrs) on Wednesdays at 7- 9pm. We also have links to Explorers (age 14 to 18yrs); and Network (age 18 to 25yrs). We have places available for boys and girls in all sections.

We are also collecting names for our Games Tournament on Tuesdays from 1.30-3.30pm and our Unique You course

on Fridays from 1.30-3.30pm.

The games tournament is a series of board or card games over 6 weeks resulting in an overall winner. The Unique You course is a 6 week course, delivered by “The Mind Alchemy”.

It’s all about loving and embracing yourself just as you are. This course has been hugely successful and there are currently 3 spaces left at time of going to press.

All clubs are £2.50 each. We also have a free trial of Qi Gong on September 17 from 1.303.30pm. Qi Gong is gentle exercise supporting coordinate­d body – posture movement, breathing and meditation. Hugely beneficial and suitable for all ages and abilities.

THE ONE-TO-ONE LISTENING SERVICE

is back on and starting soon.

We at Craigsfarm would like to extend a huge thank you and a warm welcome to our One-to-One volunteer, Janette Cameron.

One-to-One Listening is a space to share anything that is on your mind. It’s a space for you to talk in private to a trained listener who will not interrupt, advise, or judge you.

It’s a space where you will be encouraged to find your own way forward. So if you have something on your mind, need someone to talk to, know someone who might need a listening ear then services will be provided on Thursday mornings by appointmen­t. Contact us on services@craigsfarm.org.uk.

This is not a counsellin­g service but a befriendin­g opportunit­y to provide you with a listening ear to help you think through some challenges.

CRAFTY KIDS HALLOWEEN

With Halloween just around the corner, this October break Craigs Farm will be running two extra spooky sessions of Crafty Kids, where your little monsters can come along and make some scarily creative crafts. These sessions will be held on Tuesday October 12 from 1-4pm

and Thursday October 14 from 10-1pm. Crafty Kids is suitable for kids up to 11 years old

and all children must be accompanie­d by an adult to the sessions.

CRAIGS FARM TRADERS FAIR

The Traders Fair will be held on Saturday October 9 from 10 2pm. It is a great way to

support local West Lothian-based businesses and find some amazing products.

We’ll also be hosting refreshmen­ts in the café in case you want to stay for a wee cuppa too. Whether you’re buying early to beat the Christmas rush or just fancy shopping local for a treat for yourself, the Traders Fair is a great place for a day out this October.

Music Group

If you are a music maker (aged 16-25), already or would like to try something new like banging some drums, playing keyboards, guitar or bass then this group is for you. There should always be a little time in the week to get out of the house and try something new in a

space you can relax and meet new friends. Come along and join us and share in the music on

Thursdays from 4-6pm in Riverside Community Wing.

RIVERSIDE COMMUNITY FRIDGE

The Craigshill Community Fridge is open every Friday from 9.30-12.30pm in Riverside Community wing. We have fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, dairy produce, meat, also some

frozen and tinned items available. £ 3 per person, we will be continuing to run throughout the school holidays.

DAISY DROP IN

COMMUNITY CHOIR

Fom Monday October 11 . Reckon we’re all feeling it a bit, and now coming out of lockdown, people need communitie­s more than ever, to feel they belong to something, to have a sense of connection and identity.

It is hoped that this choir will go a wee bit of a way to achieving that. It’s a free choir, totally community based, no auditions, no stress, no fees, just two hours of fun and singing with easy harmonies covering a shedload of genres.
