Panto fun returns to the stage ... oh yes it does!
Nothing says Christmas quite like a Panto and the Regal Reconnect Theatre can’t wait to welcome everyone back.
The theatre will be presenting Jack and the Beanstalk from Friday until December 30.
A special adults-only version – Daisy says Moother Father – will also be performed on December 29.
Reconnect director Pete Sneddon said the theatre is delighted to be putting on pantos again after nearly two years of restrictions.
He beamed: “I am delighted that our team has pulled together to bring the people of Bathgate back to this historical building after almost two years of lockdown restrictions.
“It has been a particularly rough time for the town, but with Jack and the Beanstalk we are positive that we can make the difficulties of lockdown a faint memory.”
Reece McInroy is not only performing in the panto this year, he also wrote it.
He said: “As writers and cast members this has been a fresh new challenge for us, but we have thoroughly enjoyed the entire process. This panto was supposed to be last year so we all have a sense of relief, excitement and performer nerves.
“We genuinely wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Fellow playwright Sam Fraser added: “I completely agree that it has been truly magical to write this year’s Panto with Reece, and to see your script rehearsed and performed is both a thrilling experience for me personally; it is also quite a nerve-racking moment. “Seeing what you thought is funny on paper and telling a fluid story of Jack and the Beanstalk to then see it physically acted out by the wonderful cast is what Panto is all about.”
