Helping to make our county a more healthy and sustainable place
Views on making West Sussex a more healthy and sustainable place are being sought by the county council.
Ithasputtogether ‘Creating Healthy and Sustainable Places: A Framework for West Sussex’ – a new policy for developers, investors, planners, service providers and decision makers which maximises opportunities to create healthy and sustainable places across the county.
Residentsandstakeholders are being asked to look at this framework and take part in the consultation, which began last month and will run for eight weeks until Monday, January 11.
Amanda Jupp, cabinet member for adults and health, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for us to help shape West Sussex into a sustainable and healthy place for everyone who lives and
works here. Everyone has the right to live in a great place. More importantly, everyone has the right to contribute to making the place where they live as great as possible.
“This framework sets out
how we aim to achieve this and I would like to encourage as many people as possible to get involved and share their views.”
District councils, and Public borough Health
England, NHS Estates, Sport England and other partners, including developers, have all contributed to the framework so far.
Following public consultation a final draft of the framework will be produced and will then be presented to the health and wellbeing board in January.
