Vaccine rollout

-

Vaccinations against C ovid -19 are now being carried out across the Horsham district. People over 80 and care workers are being prioritised to receive the jabs before they are rolled out further.

The vaccinations started before Christmas and some people in Horsham received their second dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine this week - despite people in other areas having to wait longer following a change in Government policy.

Horsham’s Park Surgery - as a Primary Care Network - is administering vaccinations for patients from Holbrook Surgery, Orchard Surgery and Riverside Surgery in Horsham as well as its own patients.

Meanwhile, vaccinations are also being carried out at Christ’s Hospital, The Courtyard Surgery and The Glebe Surgery in St or ring ton.

Patients at Cowfold Surgery and Rudgwick Surgery are being vaccinated at designated sites within the Horsham group of surgeries.

Those receiving their jabs at Park Surgery have spoken of their gratitude for receiving their second dose after the surgery decided to honour second appointments made when people received their first vaccinations.

A spokesman said: “This has been a clinical decision by the Covid-19 vaccination clinical supervisor, supported by the BMA, after careful evaluation of risks and benefits.”

Meanwhile, care workers and staff at East Surrey Hospital - which looks after people from Horsham and Crawley, as well as Surrey - are now also being vaccinated against the disease.
