Cast confirmed and tickets on sale for big summer Robin Hood

-

Tickets are on sale now for Robin Hood, The Hawth’s brand-new production which will bring to life the tales of the outlaw of Sherwood Forest in the theatre’s very own woodland amphitheatre from Thursday to Sunday, July 8 to 11.

Producer Dave Watmore said: “Following on from the sell-out success of the venue’s very first in house production, Treasure Island, this exciting new piece is directed once again by Sarah Slator. Taking on the title role will be Brighton-based actor Liam Murray Scott, stage and screen’s Charlotte Price plays Maid Marion, with Matt Tweddle as Guy Gisborne and Louise Lord as Little John. The cast will also be supported on the outdoor stage by talented local performers who impressed the show’s producer and director with

their video auditions to join the cast (last) month. Casting Robin Hood with online auditions has been a very different experience to the norm but also a really positive one. There was just such excitement from everyone that the show can go ahead after a year with almost no live theatre for anyone.”

“It was also wonderful because despite being held over Zoom, we had such an incredible response from the actors. Even though we couldn’t all be in the same place, face to face, the level of those auditioning was sky high. The cast we have chosen absolutely blew us away with their auditions, regardless of the computer screens and occasional poor connection. If they can do that, then the audience who get to experience their talents live in Robin Hood are in for a huge treat. Robin Hood runs in The Hawth’s woodland Amphitheatre from Thursday, July 8 to Sunday, July 11 and the contemporary retelling of the legend could not take place in a more perfect setting. With live music, song, and stage fights galore, this will be an exciting adaptation to thrill audiences of all ages.” Tickets can be bought on www.hawth.co.uk
