Here are the magistrates’ court results for the Crawley area from June 24 - July 7.
June 24:
Katie Hicks, 32, of Hollin Court, Crawley, pleaded guilty to interfering with a Ford Transit vehicle at Furzefield, Crawley, on March 21, with the intention of theft. She also pleaded guilty to interfering with a Volvo vehicle, at Furzefield, Crawley, with the intention of theft on the same date. She pleaded guilty to obstructing a police officer at Worthing Hospital on April 21. She was fined £21 and detained in the court house for a period.
Mark Selsby, 43, of Stonepound Road, Hassocks, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on the A2032 Littlehampton Road, at Worthing, on June 4, last year, with cannabis in his blood stream. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for one year.
June 29:
Leanne Evans, 32, of Brighton Road, Worthing, pleaded guilty to stealing five packs of butter, worth £12.50, from Iceland at Crawley High Street, on January 31. She was fined £40.
George Warrington, 29, of Moor Park Crescent, Ifield, Crawley, was found guilty of driving a Mercedes vehicle on Crawley Avenue, Crawley, on November 19, last year, without due care and attention. He was fined £440 and ordered to pay £110 in prosecution costs. He was banned from driving for six months. The verdict was proved in his absence.
June 30:
Nisa Busby, 37, of Hopkins Court, Crawley, was found guilty of assault by beating. The offence took place at Crawley on April 26, last year. The court made a community order with a requirement of 120 hours of unpaid work. Magistrates issued a restraining order and ordered her to pay £775 in prosecution costs.
Gavril Delanyi, 56, of Elm Drive, East Grinstead, indicated a plea of guilty to driving a Vauxhall vehicle on the A22 Beeching Way, East Grinstead, on April 24, last year, without due care and attention. The court made a community order with a requirement of 80 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for one year.
Asif Khan, 48, of Rushetts Road, Langley Green, Crawley, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer in the execution of her duty. The offence took place at Crawley on February 16. He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for one year. The court made a community order with an eight week electronically monitored curfew between 9pm and 7am and a requirement of 200 hours of unpaid work. He was ordered to pay £300 in compensation.
July 1:
Nathan Roberts, 32, of Balcombe Road, Horley, indicated guilty pleas to driving a Vauxhall vehicle on Greenwich Close, Crawley, on December 18, last year, with cannabis and the controlled drug Benzoylecgonine in his blood stream. He also indicated guilty pleas to being in possession of quantities of cocaine and cannabis at Crawley on the same date. He was fined £734 and banned from driving for 23 months. Magistrates made a community order with a requirement of 40 hours of unpaid work.
Matthew Hughes, 34, of Strudgate Close, Crawley, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW vehicle on the A23 London Road, at Crawley, on October 22, last year, with cannabis in his blood stream. He was fined £140 and banned from driving for one year.
July 2:
Luminita Luyindula, 63, of Rushams Road, Horsham, pleaded guilty to driving a Skoda vehicle on Albion Way, Horsham, on June 10, last year, while twice over the drink drive limit. She gave a blood alcohol reading of 170 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes. She was fined £346 and banned from driving for 20 months.
July 5:
Giancario Mereu, 47, of Southbrook, Broadfield, Crawley, was found guilty of failing to provide information to police relating to the identity of the driver of a Vauxhall vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence on February 10. He was fined £660 and his driving record endorsed with six penalty points.
July 6:
John Wicks, 57, of Guildford Road, Clemsfold, Horsham, was found guilty of failing to provide information to police relating to the identity of the driver of a Nissan vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence on June 4 last year. He was fined £660 and ordered to pay £600 in prosecution costs. His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
July 7:
John Bond, 65, of Old Shoreham Road, Hove, pleaded guilty to pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of a woman by sending her 170 text messages in 24 hours, which were threatening or abusive and making in excess of 80 telephone calls. The offence took place at Haywards Heath between June 13 2018 and June 21 2018. He admitted failing to surrender to court custody at Crawley on July 19 2018. Sentencing was adjourned until July 30 for pre-sentence reports to be prepared. He was remanded in custody.
Michael Simmons, 43, of London Road, Crowborugh, pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating. The offences took place at Uckfield on February 14 and March 18. The court made a community order with 100 hours of unpaid work. Magistrates issued a restraining order.
Aimee Bernard, 21, of Sandy Lane, Crawley Down, Crawley, was found guilty of assaulting a man causing actual bodily harm. The offence took place at East Grinstead on November 9 2019. The court made a community order with a requirement of 100 hours of unpaid work. She was ordered to pay £200 in compensation and £375 in prosecution costs.
