Joint top rink went to Trevor Bushell, Jenny Patterson and George Lewis after an impressive score of 18-7 and skip John Brown with lead Paul Smith and number two Jane Gray, who won 22-11.

Finals weekend began on Saturday with the Novice Salver, followed by the Novice Cup, the Two Wood Handicap and the Drawn Pairs.

For the first time in the club’s history, the Drawn Pairs was played with two players against one, after captain, John Brown, had to withdraw due to ill health at the last minute, leaving his pairs partner, Jeff Elliott, to play his four woods against two woods each from Trevor Bushell and George Lewis.

Jeff was given a marker but even that wasn’t quite enough to get him over the line.

Both the Men’s and Ladies Championships were hotly contested, with Steve Adsett and Jane Grey running out winners.
