Why not see what Steyning Grammar School has to offer?

Outdoor learning

This is our 11th year of Year 7 Downland Days. Over this time well over 4000 children have taken part. Over the years our wonderful students have cleared woodland to recreate an area of chalk grassland (a very rare habitat), opened up the Rifle Range target area, kept footpaths open and are now focussing on helping to keep the Steyning Downland Scheme safe from trees that have contracted ash die back disease. It’s not all hard work though: our students learn about nature conservation, some local history and how to use grown-up tools safely. There is definitely a lot of physics involved and they have to work together to be successful. They also have a lot of fun!! https://youtu.be/vM4uNAI7Zfs

Outstanding Facilities

We are very proud of our excellent facilities and spacious grounds at SGS. Be it our modern labs, dedicated Art and Design rooms, Drama/Music rooms, or swimming pool. We have the facilities to support and nurture every student.

Co-Curricular

We offer all of the students at SGS opportunities to develop interests and skills which will continue to enrich their lives long after they leave school. We celebrate the creative progress and development of young artists, designers and performers through an annual summer exhibition, the KS3 drama performances, the school production, regular music performances and concerts. Extra-curricular opportunities are extensive and include life drawing, extra art workshops, music lessons and clubs, Canto Celeste, technology and drama clubs.

Sport is a large part of SGS life. Every year, SGS competes in numerous local, regional and national competitions with considerable success. There is an extensive programme of co-curricular sports and physical activity clubs.
