Glovers will welcome fans for Bath friendly

YEOVIL will host a test event for up to 1,000 fans when they play Bath City in a pre-season game at Huish Park.

National League South side Bath were scheduled to host Yeovil at their Twerton Park ground tomorrow, but instead the match has been switched to Huish Park and will now take place this coming Tuesday with a 7.45pm kick-off.

It is all part of Darren Sarll’s preparatio­ns for the Glovers’ 20/21 National League season, which will start away to newlypromo­ted Kings Lynn Town on Saturday, October 3.

A statement on the official Yeovil website read: “Yeovil Town are delighted to confirm that our friendly against Bath City will now be played in front of 1,000 fans at Huish Park.

“In order to complete thorough preparatio­ns, the match will now be played on Tuesday, September 22, at 7.45pm.

“In order to (make sure) fans can attend the National League fixtures from October 3 onwards, it is vital that social distancing measures are in place and are strictly followed by all fans in attendance on Tuesday evening.

“News on how you can purchase tickets for the fixture will be issued shortly.”

Bristol City have sent out five youngsters on loan to further their developmen­t.

Defender Bradley Webb follows a well-trodden path to Newport to team up with his fellow Robin Saikou Janneh.

Forward Sam Pearson has joined Weymouth, striker Tommy Conway and defender James Taylor are heading to Bath City, while goalkeeper Will Buse joins up with Dorchester.
