Land can offer more than just being green

PERHAPS the most distressing thing post lockdown has been the return of the mowers to our public spaces. Greens, parks and recreation grounds which had taken on a richness of flowers and wildlife have been obliterated in an instant.

When it comes to mechanically flattening our landscape we are just as enthusiastic as illegal loggers in the Amazon.

I encourage land owners, notably the council and Curo to look again at their land management policies and whether they deliver for nature as well as us.
