New events will welcome you back to showground

THE Three Counties Agricultural Society have announced three new events following the cancellation of its main shows this year.

Following modifications and improvements to the showground, and with Visit England’s seal of approval, a new line-up of events has been announced.

It comes after organisers were forced to cancel the three main shows this year – the RHS Malvern Spring Festival, the Royal Three Counties Show and the Malvern Autumn Show.

However, now that the Government has given the green light for live outdoor events to continue, the society is keen to welcome visitors to the showground again.

The first event will be Showground Saturday which will take place on Saturday, July 25.

Head of Shows Diana Walton said: “It’s a day of summertime fun and freedom, a chance to enjoy the vast open space on the showground at the foot of the Malvern Hills.

“Visitors may like to bring a family picnic and games or explore the 100 acres of grounds – perfect for dog walking. There’ll be a fun dog show plus a small open air market, selling locally-sourced produce, plants and crafts. A range of takeaway hot and cold drinks and snacks will also be available to purchase.”

The second event will be the Three Counties Food and Drink Feast on August 22. It will showcase and support the best of local produce and globally-inspired street food, with more than 120 stands set throughout the showground.

The third event will be the Malvern Plant and Garden Fair which will be taking place on September 12-13.

It is billed as a great opportunity for plant lovers and gardeners to attend an autumn plants show following the coronavirus lockdown.

Diana said: “Our regular visitors will have the opportunity to stock up with their plant fixes from their favourite specialist nursery growers. It’s the last chance of the season and a perfect opportunity to buy bulbs and start planning spring projects.”
