Paedophile, 88, faces jail for latest offence

ONE of Britain’s most prolific paedophiles who has convictions dating back 50 years to 1967 faces jail again – after committing his latest sex crime.

Peter Kis, 88, has been jailed numerous times for abuse over the past five decades and was out on licence when he carried out the latest offence.

His lengthy list of offences includes multiple counts of gross indecency and indecent assault – including one sickening attack in a church. He was hauled before a court again after being caught committing an indecent act after watching two girls, aged eight and six, cycle by his house, it was said.

He pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child via video link on Monday and was remanded in custody for sentence at a later date

The incident took place near Kis’s home in Swindon, on June 2.

Judge Jason Taylor, QC, told the pensioner, a Polish national, that he should expect another term behind bars.

He told Swindon Crown Court: “Mr Kis, you should be under no illusion that custody is coming your way, alright? But I am sure you understand that.”

Kis has a record of abusing women and girls that stretches back more than half a century.

He was first jailed in 1967 when he received eight years for indecent assaults on two girls.

He was then given a suspended sentence in 1971 after he was convicted of gross indecency with a child.

He was put on three-year community orders in 1994 for gross indecency and indecent assault and in 1999 for indecent exposure.

In 2010 he approached two young girls on a bus and touched them inappropriately.

He then arranged to see them the next day to buy them clothes and was arrested at that meeting.

Four years later he groped a female member of staff in a supermarket, then pulled her hand towards his body, and in 2015 groped a woman working in a chemist.

He was then sentenced to three and a half years behind bars in 2018 for a sickening assault on a seven-year-old girl at a church.

He had grabbed the girl’s hands and rubbed them against himself during a service the year before.

He denied the offence but jurors took little more than an hour to find him guilty.

During the trial, Kis claimed that although he attended services and handed round the collection plate he did not touch the girl. He said it must have been someone else.

Jailing the man then, Judge Robert Pawson said: “You are quite unable it seems to leave women and female children alone.”
