Some people prefer a fractured society

- B E Roberts by email

IT might surprise Dr Kirkham to know that certain individuals in the ethnic communities have no wish to have a fully integrated society as it suits their purpose to keep the population fractured.

Have you never questioned why when the police are called to a street party in South London at 2am there seems to be a ready supply of petrol bombs, bricks, and bottles? Could it be that the perpetrators wanted a confrontation? The police already have one hand tied behind their backs. And of course next morning all the pious hand-wringing do-gooders are claiming police brutality.

I notice you never mentioned the fact that the rich in this country continued to exploit the children of the poor well after 1833 when black slavery was abolished. If an eight-year-old was killed due to an event down at the coal face did the shift stop? No it didn’t, at the end of the shift the broken little body was returned to his mother with a few shillings to pay for the burial.

There are a lot of mansions and stately homes built through investing in the mills and collieries and off the back of child labour.

Don’t sanitise history Dr Kirkham, don’t pick out one section of the community for special attention.

I’m surprised that you condone the mass hysteria and vandalism of the Bristol demonstration where probably 60 per cent of the attendees were out for a “jolly” after reading about it on Facebook.

As to your reference to Extinction Rebellion, it is well documented that the group behind it is Momentum, an ultra left-wing organisation.

As to BLM, their latest demonstration had placards saying ‘Defund the Police’.

There is a political element beginning to creep into what they do.

Also, remember that after these demonstrations it’s the council taxpayer who picks up the bill.
