Cock-a-hoop Tottenham hit United for six

-

JOSE Mourinho enjoyed a superb return to Old Trafford as his Spurs side thrashed ten-man Manchester United 6-1 yesterday afternoon.

United could barely have made a better start, earning a penalty inside 30 seconds, which Bruno Fernandes scored, but Spurs were in front by the seventh minute.

Tanguy Ndombele equalised before Son Hueng-min (2), Harry Kane (2) and Serge Aurier helped hit the Red Devils for six. United had Anthony Martial sent off.

Leicester, meanwhile, suffered a surprise 3-0 home defeat to West Ham, who struck through Michail Antonio, Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen, pictured.

Arsenal scored two quickfire goals to extend Sheffield United’s pointless start – although the Blades did manage their first goal in a 2-1 defeat. Bukayo Saka and Nicolas Pepe netted for the hosts, David McGoldrick replied.

Southampton ran out 2-0 winners at home to West Brom, with Moussa Djenepo and Oriol Romeu on target.

Wolves, meanwhile, were 1-0 victors over Fulham, who remain bottom. Pedro Neto bagged the winner in the second half.

Last night’s fixture between Aston Villa and Liverpool finished after the Daily Press deadline.

On Saturday, Dominic CalvertLewin celebrated his first call-up to the England senior squad by scoring in his fourth successive Premier League match as Everton beat Brighton 4-2.

Colombian’s James Rodriguez (2) and Yerry Mina were also on target for the Toffees, while the visitors replied through Neal Maupay and Yves Bissouma.

Elsewhere, Ben Chilwell scored one and set up another as he started his Chelsea career with a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.

The £45 million signing from Leicester drilled home the opener and laid on the cross from which Kurt Zouma headed the second.

Jorginho later added two more, both from the penalty spot.

Leeds and Manchester City shared the spoils after a thrilling 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

Raheem Sterling put City ahead, but Rodrigo pounced on an Ederson error to equalise.

Meanwhile, Callum Wilson hit two goals after the opener from Allan Saint-Maximin as hosts Newcastle beat Burnley 3-1. Ashley Westwood had equalised for the Clarets.
