-

WESTON-SUPER-MARE were the only one of the region’s five Southern League Premier Division South teams to win on Saturday.

The Seagulls emerged 2-1 home victors against Beaconsfield thanks to first-half goals from Dayle Grubb and Nick McCootie.

Scott Donnelly equalised for the visitors, but McCootie’s goal turned out to be the winner.

Elsewhere, Salisbury are fifth in the table following their 2-2 draw at home to Hartley Wintney.

Marvin Brooks and Charlie Davis hit back for the Whites after Sam Argent had given the away side an early lead, but Jordan Edwards ensured it finished all square.

Taunton also had to settle for a point as they drew 1-1 away to Kings Langley.

Jake Wannell levelled after Kabir Kareem had put the home side into a lead.

It also finished 1-1 at Lodge Road, where hosts Yate took the lead early in the second half via Ollie Mehew, only for Chesham’s Mark Kirby to quickly equalise.

Swindon Supermarine ought to have claimed a point as well, but they conceded a 90th-minute goal at home to Poole to go down 1-0 in their match.

Tony-James Lee was on target as the south coast side leapfrogged up to fourth in the table.

■ Cirencester’s second-half goal blitz earned a 5-1 home win over Kidlington and safe passage into the next round of the FA Trophy.

Following a goalless first half, Ben Whitehead gave the hosts the lead, although that was quickly cancelled out.

However, the Centurions scored four goals in the final 22 minutes to progress to the next round.

Whitehead put the home side back in front before Aidan Bennett, Tom Handley and Josh GraceParsons extended the margin.

Elsewhere, Frome also took a 5-1 victory as they thumped Didcot in Oxfordshire.

Noah Alabi gave the Railwaymen the lead, but they soon hit the buffers as Jon Davies, Marcus Mapstone, Joe O’Loughlin, James Ollis and Rex Mannings all struck for the visiting team.

Paulton, meanwhile, were 2-1 winners away to Bristol Manor Farm with Ed Butcher and Leighton Thomas on the mark. Owen Howe pulled one back for Manor Farm but it was not enough.
