Popular Giuseppe aims to bake his way into TV final

-

TOMORROW night four amateur bakers will battle it out for a spot in the final of The Great British Bake Off – and Bristol’s Giuseppe is one of them.

The Emersons Green engineer has won over the nation – not just with his impressive bakes but his wit and warmth too.

He is the second Bristolian to make the semi-finals after Briony Williams in 2018, and is competing against Jurgen Krauss, Chirag Parmer and Crystelle Pereira for a place in the all-important final.

It didn’t take long for fans of the show to warm to Giuseppe, with the baker leaving viewers in tears over his hilarious one-liners.

Fans have taken to social media to say they’re sure he will be crowned this year’s Bake Off champion, with others desperate for him and Jurgen to have their own spin off show.

He has proved himself as a talented amateur baker, earning himself the first Hollywood handshake of the season and Star Baker several times.

Giuseppe, 45, lives in Bristol with his wife and three young sons.

He is believed to have been inspired to bake by his father, a professional chef. He works at the National Composites Centre in Emersons Green, where he has been chief engineer since 2017.

He has also worked as an industrial fellow at the University of Bristol, and a lecturer at Cranfield University, according to his LinkedIn profile.

In early October, Giuseppe shared a sweet picture on Instagram of his three boys watching Bake Off, all still dressed in their school uniform.

“Life doesn’t get any sweeter,” he wrote in the caption.

The semi-final airs tomorrow at 8pm on Channel 4.
