Lost and found

-

ANYTHING that starts with a terrified woman running through the woods in the dark, barely dressed, is not going to be a relaxing watch.

Part survival epic, part psychological horror story and part coming-of-age drama, this creepy thriller follows a team of talented high-school girls soccer players who survive a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness.

Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher and Sammi Hanratty star as the teen

Left: Juliette Lewis stars as the adult Natalie as we

learn about the crash, right

Priya, right, starts to feel anxious when Leyla turns up looking glam. Ashamed of her joggers, she asks for Leyla’s help.

When she tells Leyla she still hasn’t looked at her back, she gently agers, while Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci and Juliette Lewis portray their adult counterparts as they reveal the truth about their survival 25 years later.

In the present day, members of the community are interviewed about what really happened, while we flash back to 1996 to meet these champion teenagers. encourages her to confront her fears and look at her scars. Priya is clearly in enormous emotional and physical pain.

Brenda gets the villagers involved in Emmerdale’s community crimefighting force - EmmerWatch, and Bear and Faith have come up with a plan to deal with Al, who keeps raiding the fridge.

It’s been dubbed ‘The Next Lost’, as the girls survive a plane crash, then descend into warring, cannibalistic clans after being stranded for nearly two years before being rescued.

In the present day, four of the women are in their 40s, trying to maintain a ‘normal’ suburban existence, while also keeping secret what really happened in the wilderness.

A journalist is sniffing around hoping to tell their story, for a sizable fee, but it probably isn’t the sort of story that everyone should know.

This is a gripping show with an excellent female-strong cast, plenty of teen angst, disturbing horror and the odd mid-life crisis thrown in.
