Brexit never possible without a NI border

-

I DO not apologise for repeating some of the content of my previous letters. The truth needs repeating on matters regarding Northern Ireland and Brexit, and the UK Government’s behaviour during its ‘Get Brexit done’ campaign.

The Northern Ireland referendum result was to remain in the EU. Theresa May refused to sell British citizens down the road by signing an agreement that would cause all the problems now being experienced with a border down the Irish Sea.

Boris Johnson signed the agreement knowing full well a border of some kind was inevitable and unavoidable, then swore blind that no border was going to happen. He basically lied to the Northern Irish on the matter, as is his habit when problems arise.

It is of course obvious that a border has to be either on the Irish mainland causing huge problems and breaking the peace agreement, or down the Irish Sea, pushing Northern Ireland towards a united Ireland.

How can you possibly have the EU single market bordering a nonmember country, with all that entails in membership fees, freedom of movement for all trade goods and EU people, without a border?

The EU has every right to protect its membership benefits and protect itself from inevitable smuggling of people and goods, as does the UK.

Brexit was never achievable without a border and a lot of pain for the future of Northern Ireland, and it was not highlighted and covered during the referendum.

Scotland also voted to remain and there lies more future problems for the survival of the UK as it is today.
