Floyd star opens his garden to raise cash

-

LEGENDARY Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason is set to fire up his barbecue at an open garden event at his Wiltshire home this summer.

The megastar will also put his classic and high-performance cars on display for the public to enjoy.

Nick and his wife Annette will be opening up their garden to the public to raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust, which works in partnership with Wiltshire Police to provide a home security service.

The Corsham event will be held over the weekend of Saturday,

July 30 and Sunday, July 31, from 11am to 4.30pm each day.

In 2021, the event helped to raise £52,000, split equally between the two charities.

The previous year, the event had to be postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Weekend visitors will be able to wander around the beautiful gardens and view Nick’s menagerie of animals, as well as his car collection.

The family-friendly event will include a number of stalls, including ones selling jewellery, plants, candles and art.

Nick will be firing up his barbecue for the event to make sure visitors are well-fed.

There will also be an opportunity to meet the Wiltshire Air Ambulance team and Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust representatives.

Entry will cost £8 for adults per day, with children under 12 free. Friendly dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance director of income generation and communications, Barbara Gray, said: “The Middlewick House event is always hugely popular with our supporters and we can’t wait for this year’s extravaganza.

“We can’t thank Nick and Annette enough for agreeing to hold the event once more, which will raise vital funds for our charity and the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust.”

Middlewick House is the former home of Wiltshire Air Ambulance patron the Duchess of Cornwall.
