Leyla visits her new dealer and gets more cocaine. She finds herself with excitement – she hasn’t been dancing in years and intends to go wild. Tess, on the other hand, wants to be home in time for the 10pm news.

Before the big night though, Cathy is gearing herself up for her first day in her posh new job. Little does she know that her fancy promotion won’t be as glamorous as she’s hoping… Meanwhile, Cat is revising for her Maths GCSE and doing her best herself in a precarious situation when Liam asks for a lift to work.

Faith goes to the café while struggling with her nausea, leaving Brenda suspicious. to keep it a secret.

When it’s time to party, Marcus immediatel­y embarrasse­s Cathy by turning up in a ridiculous outfit, and as the evening goes on, revelation­s emerge about their relationsh­ip.

But the night is supposed to be about Callum – he almost walks out when he sees Cat and Cathy are still fighting, but sticks around long enough to run into Angela.

Will the power of Northern Soul help them make up? The next day, the whole gang gets together for the first anniversar­y of Colin’s death. Cat and Cathy are hoping to find some peace, but there are more secrets to be revealed, which will have implicatio­ns for everyone (and will neatly set up another series, if the show gets recommissi­oned).
