Why would working class vote Tory?
SO Mr Gelder and others still fly the flag for Mr Johnson, stating his charm, charisma and statesmanship? How interesting are our different perspectives.
Mr Warne, from Cornwall, believes that anyone would be better and reminds us kindly that electing a prime minister isn’t some cheap personality show but about electing a party to do the job of government.
I don’t know your circumstances Mr Gelder, but I still find it incredulous that any working class person (most of us) would ever vote Tory? It reminds me of how the abused will often subconsciously create further abuse time after time. Better the devil you know?
The Tories have never done anything for the working classes and have always opposed any gain for the betterment of our lives.
Why is Cornwall a blue county? If ever a county has been ignored by government it is them.
I can only assume that Daily Mail headlines and the usual propaganda, Brexit and election slogans and empty promises are irresistible.
Even Mrs May once referred to the Tories as being known as the ‘nasty party’. They have successfully killed the brotherhood of the workers and replaced it with self-interest and snobbery.
Oh dear, Mr Kynaston, another of the tribe who cites Daily Mail headlines. Remember the Mail, proHitler and pro-fascism in the 1930s?
You state that the union bosses are communists, so by your reasoning anyone leaning to the right politically must be a fascist. How dangerous and divisive are such generalisations, and the stark polarisation of your reason perhaps best describes how the Tories work.
By the way, how many shareholders, directors and CEOs are refusing their pay rises and bonuses?
