Off-colour Swindon Town looking to stop the rot

SWINDON Town host Notts County this afternoon (3pm) as they look to bounce back from the 2-1 home defeat to Doncaster Rovers last time out on March 16.

Town, who were not in action last weekend, are in 20th place in League Two after a disappoint­ing run of form that has seen them slump to three straight defeats following a win and a draw in the previous two games.

Today’s visitors, who were promoted via the play-offs from the National League last season, find themsleves in 14th positiion after two defeats, a draw, a win and another loss in their past five fixtures.

The Robins head into today’s game will fresh injury concerns as Saidou Khan and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy both look set to miss out due to fitness concerns.

Their absences are in addition to those of Reece Devine, Tom Clayton, Tariq Uwakwe, Pharrell Johnson, and Harrison Minturn with longterm injuries.

Meanwhile, Town Academy’s Fletcher Hubbard and Finn Adams have joined Southern League side Melksham Town on a work experience loan.

National League South leaders Yeovil Town take on Torquay United at Huish Park this afternoon with more than 4,000 tickets already sold, before travelling to Weymouth on Easter Monday.

They go in today’s game seven points clear at the top following last weekend’s 1-0 win at third-placed Braintree Town knowing that nine more points will seal the title.

Elsewhere in National League South, 10th-placed Bath City, who are stil just one point off the play-off places with games in hand on four the teams above them, welcome mid-table Weymouth to Twerton Park.

Chippenham Town, who are six points off the play-offs, head to Farnboroug­h. Weston-super-Mare, in 15th place, host West rivals Taunton Town who occupy the final relegation berth on goal difference.

In National League North, 11thplaced Hereford FC, who are two points off the playe-offs, head to struggling Banbury who are 22nd, a place above Gloucester City who play host to third-placed Brackley Town at 1pm.
