Full-back extends Bath deal

-

BATH full-back Tom de Glanville has signed a contract extension to stay with the Premiership club until the end of the 2025-26 season.

De Glanville has been a regular fixture in the Bath back line this season, and has made a total of 72 appearances in Blue, Black and White. The 24-year-old was born in the city and is a product of the club’s academy.

“I’m really excited about where this club is going over the next few years,” De Glanville told the club website. “It’s full of amazing people throughout and I’m loving playing alongside my best mates every week.”

De Glanville, pictured, is unlikely to play again this season after fracturing a bone in his foot during the club’s friendly win against Leinster earlier this month. He joins Will Muir, Max Ojomoh, and Cameron Redpath as Bath’s other backline players to sign new deals.

Meanwhile, Bath have also handed number eight Jaco Coetzee and hooker John Stewart one-year contract extensions with both having had strong seasons.

The 27-year-old South African Coetzee has been in fine form this year having managed to stay relatively injury-free after a difficult couple of seasons on that front. Sitting on 30 appearances, the Number 8’s contract was due to expire at the end of the season but he has signed on for a further year to battle with Alfie Barbeary and Miles Reid for a place at the back of the scrum.

Dorset-born Stewart, 22, has progressed through the Bath Rugby Academy making his Gallagher Premiership debut in December 2023 against Leicester Tigers, as well as previously running out for England U20s. Sitting on nine Bath appearances, the frontrower has earned game time on loan at various clubs and featured in Bath’s Premiership Rugby Cup fixtures this season. ”

Bath head to Harlquins for tomorrow’s Gallagher Premiership fixture (3.05pm) .
