Friday: The UK trade deficit shrank in July as exports rose by £0.8bn and imports fell by £0.3bn after sterling’s depreciation in the wake of Brexit. But over the three months to the end of July, the deficit widened by £5.1bn to £14.1bn. Friday’s figures will update the post-Brexit position for UK trade.
In August total US non-farm payroll employment increased by 151,000, below market expectations of 180,000.
