Overhaul needed so ditch the Assembly

-

HOUSEHOLD council tax is to be increased to make up the shortfall in healthcare.

The major problem is the amount of council tax that is taken for the huge salaries and pensions that are paid to councillors both in England and Wales. There are far too many councils. The total cost to run each separately must waste megasums of our money.

The amount of duplication that must take place could only happen in a government organisation. If any business employed so many people doing the same jobs they would go bust, and that is what is happening. Each year we have to pay more but get less. The amount of services that are being cut cannot be right. It should be the overheads, and I am sure that most of these councils could be amalgamated.

The whole tier of local and national government needs a complete overhaul, starting with the Welsh Assembly. It’s an unnecessary waste of tax-payers’ money, and it makes me cringe each week when we learn that they have lost or given money to a lost cause.

Tell me one major thing that has got better since this Mickey Mouse assembly was formed. The health service and education are far worse. I can see in the near future we will own a racetrack to go with the airport that is still wasting taxpayers’ money.

I am proud to say that I am Welsh, but not a Welsh idiot.

Wake up before it’s too late because they are proposing to increase their numbers.
