Giggs wants to make his mark as a club boss

-

RYAN Giggs has spoken out about his future coaching ambitions and admitted that managing in club football is where he sees his future, writes Jack Vittles.

The 64-cap Wales winger had been touted as a potential youth guru for the Welsh national side, with Craig Bellamy also being lined up.

However, the former Manchester United star now looks set to begin his full-time management career in club football.

Bellamy also looks set to remain outside the Welsh national set-up as he is committed to his role as youth chief at Cardiff City.

It is now thought the FAW have turned their attention towards former Northampton Town boss Robert Page and former Swansea City full-back Sam Ricketts in their search for a new youth coach.

Giggs, meanwhile, has been enjoying some time away from the game this season after a two-year spell as assistant manager to Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, but it is expected he will make his first foray into management sooner rather than later.

There were even rumours he could have been in line for the Wales national job last year if Chris Coleman decided to jump ship for Crystal Palace.

Thankfully for Wales fans, Coleman remained and Giggs is now looking to start his management career elsewhere.

The 13-time Premier League winner also offered his assessment of how Jose Mourinho was settling in during his first season in charge at Manchester United, but admitted he barely speaks to the Portuguese manager.
