Cyden appoints new sales director

-

COSMETIC hair removal venture Cyden has announced the appointment of Simon Boyd as its new international sales director.

The company is seeking to drive sales across its growing international markets. And Mr Boyd will take up the role with immediate effect.

With its headquarters in Swansea, and a first overseas office that recently opened in Tokyo, Cyden – the makers of SMOOTHSKIN – is recognised as a pioneer in the development of light technology hair removal products for use at home, and is heralded as a driving force for the technology sector in Wales.

Commenting on the appointment of Mr Boyd, Giles Davies, CEO of Cyden, said: “The last three years has been a period of significant growth for the business.

“But to enable us to realise our ambitious plans over the next five years and beyond, it was critical that we brought someone in with the international expertise and experience we need.

“We appointed Odgers Berndtson as our executive search partner having successfully worked with it previously on a number of appointments, including the appointment of our global marketing director who was living and working for Unilever in Singapore.

“We felt confident that it not only understood us as a business, but because of its national and international reach it was bestplaced to help us find the right person to help us in the next phase of our growth.”

Mr Boyd joins Cyden having spent five years with the Bullitt Group – first as vice president (EMEA) and then as chief executive of its global Accessories business. Prior to that he held a number of commercial director roles for several leading tech companies.

“Simon’s extensive international experience and proven track record for delivering significant growth through distributors via multiple channels made him the obvious candidate for us,” added Mr Davies.

“We are delighted to welcome Simon to Cyden. His insight and expertise will play a crucial role in enabling us to further extend our reach within the international markets of most importance to us.”

Mr Boyd said: “This is a great time to be joining Cyden. When I first discussed the role with Odgers Berndtson, I was immediately attracted by the opportunity to join an organisation that is not only a major player within its sector but also has ambitions to scale its business both nationally and internationally.”
