Merger will enable law firm to extend its reach in southWales

LAW firm JCP Solicitors has announced a merger with specialist firm Glamorgan Law in a move set to create the largest law firm with offices solely in Wales.

JCP Solicitors is already one of the region’s most extensive legal businesses, with offices in Swansea, Carmarthen and throughout Pembrokesh­ire. The merger of the two businesses will see JCP Solicitors extend its geographic­al reach throughout southeast Wales, by investing in Glamorgan Law’s existing offices in Caerphilly, Cardiff, Cowbridge and Pontypridd. All Glamorgan Law partners and employees currently based at those offices will remain within the merged company.

Glamorgan Law brings with it eight directors and 50 additional members of staff, with senior partners Peter Davies and Richard Beech taking up business ownership in JCP.

The new merged firm will have a turnover in excess of £10m and it is projected that this merger will make it one of the top 200 law firms in the UK.

JCP Solicitors and Glamorgan Law will merge on April 25.
