Llandovery College – inspiring young lives

-

LLANDOVERY College is one of Wales’ oldest and most respected independent day and boarding schools set in a 45-acre stunning wooded campus.

We are a broad-ability school with a global and holistic approach to education. Small class sizes and dedicated staff ensure that the learning needs of each pupil are catered for, enabling them to reach and exceed their individual potential. Mellow old buildings blend with modern teaching faculties to create an exceptional environment for learning and development.

Academic excellence continues to be the primary aim. As well as recent Oxbridge successes and an A-level pass rate of 98%, many pupils move on to Russell Group universities with more than 75% securing places at their first choice universities. At GCSE, 78% of pupils secured A*-C grades, way above the national average and Llandovery College’s outstanding “valueadded” success has resulted in pupils achieving more than five grades above externallydetermined predictions.

Also at the heart of Llandovery College’s ethos is the emphasis on the importance of individual effort, talent and attainment – a philosophy that extends far beyond the classroom onto the field of play and across the wide spectrum of cultural and leisure activities.

While so proud of our tradition of producing world-class rugby players, pupils also compete at regional, national and international levels in no less than 17 different sports. A thriving Combined Cadet Force and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme contribute to a first-rate co-curricular programme.

The school day at Llandovery College runs from 8.30am until 5pm with an after-school club (from 4-11 years) open until 6pm. School transport is widely available.

Find out more by attending the open morning on Saturday, March 18 at 9.30am. Please contact 01550 723005 or admissions@ llandoverycollege.com
