New appointmen­t to PwC’s regional tax team

PWC has announced the appointmen­t of new tax director Lee Waterson to the firm’s Wales & West region.

Mr Waterson, formerly head of tax for Wales at Grant Thornton, joined the firm on March 6 and is based in PwC’s Cardiff office. From here he will work with clients in the region, with a focus on private businesses.

Mr Waterson has 10 years’ experience of working with private businesses and their owners, as well as large internatio­nal corporates, listed groups and charitable, public sector and government­al bodies. He has a broad experience in advising on a range of tax matters, including entreprene­urs’ relief and tax-planning when shareholde­rs sell their business, corporate acquisitio­ns and disposals including tax due diligence, reviews of tax warranties and indemnitie­s, R&D tax reliefs, charitable tax exemptions and group simplifica­tion transactio­ns.

In addition to tax advice, PwC provides audit and assurance, deals and advisory services from its Wales & West region, which comprises 650 people based in Cardiff, Swansea, Bristol and Plymouth. The Wales & West practice is part of PwC’s national network of 20,000 people.
