Llandeilo antiques and vintage monthly fair set to continue
DERWEN Fairs has been running antique fairs for more than 17 years and is now on the brink of launching its new antiques and vintage fair at the Civic Hall, Llandeilo, on Saturday, April 1.
Following on from its huge success with the launch seven years ago of its flagship events in the National Botanic Gardens near Carmarthen, it was decided that Derwen Fairs would carry on the well-established Llandeilo Antiques and Vintage fair, which has been run in recent years by Marion. Due to ill health, Marion has had to give up running the fair and we all hope she makes a speedy recovery.
This successful fair has been held on the first Saturday of each month and can be located in the heart of the busy town of Llandeilo, close to the main car park. Here you will find a bustling, vibrant fair with lots of antiques and vintage goods at affordable prices.
The vintage era spanned two world wars, and the fashion was both chic and stylish. The roaring ’20s to the fabulous ’40s inspired designers coming out of those war periods. We see how the modern generation are inspired by the fashion trends of those eras and are now using the style in their own individual way.
The theme will be harping back to the ’30s, ’40s, ’50s and ’60s with stands showcasing stylish women’s and men’s fashion. The emphasis will be on affordable vintage clothing and accessories. There will also vintage collections of home furnishings mixed in with vintageinspired jewellery.
The fair boasts a good range of quality antiques from silver and gold watches to fishing reels, vintage tools, toys and clothes, kitchenalia, a fine collection of pewter, furniture, books and an impressive display of militaria.
The next National Botanic Garden of Wales Antiques fair and Vintage Market will be held on April 22 and 23. Homemade snacks and refreshments will be available at the fair and doors open at 10am and close at 4pm. The popular TV programme Bargain Hunt will again be returning to film at this popular event.
