How they rated

- BY CHRIS WATHAN

LUKASZ FABIANSKI

Solid throughout, commanding area well in crosses and smart reactions to snuff out Negredo danger in second-half chance.

KYLE NAUGHTON

Looked in trouble early on as Ramirez doubled up with Fabio down his side but, though misplaced some passes, remained solid enough defensively and offered attacking runs.

ALFIE MAWSON

Mixed the rough and ready with the calm and composed. Was wrong side of Negredo at one stage but did enough to put him off and was strong and physical when needed.

FEDERICO FERNANDEZ

Disappointed with distribution but coped well enough in the main with Boro threat from counter. Did well in air.

JACK CORK (CAPT)

Screened the back four well against counter and was solid enough but didn’t capture imagination as Swansea looked for way through.

TOM CARROLL

Some decent deliveries into area without the man they needed to take advantage of them. Some good interplay but not enough dynamism at times.

LEROY FER

Driving runs helped Swansea onto the front foot in the second-half although touch let him down on occasion. Busy.

LUCIANO NARSINGH

Started well and really made the most of Fabio’s weakness but deliveries let him down, as did a few heavy touches when put through.

JORDAN AYEW

Did look more effective than in previous outings but never once looked like he would meet one of the deliveries and couldn’t threaten Valdes.

GYLFI SIGURDSSON

Still looked like Swansea’s best hope of scoring but isolated a little and wasn’t able to pull enough strings to make it happen for the hosts.

STAR MAN: MARTIN OLSSON

A welcome return to the side and immediately offered extra dimension to Swansea’s attacking play while never getting exposed.
