Promotion has to wait for champs Pontypool
PONTYPOOL have been crowned champions of the National Championship after their 23-3 home win over Glamorgan Wanderers.
Gareth Rusby-Davies, Ben Parry and Callum Davies got the tries to spark the celebrations at Pontypool Park with Matthew Jones adding a conversion and two penalties.
But, due to the three-year ringfence around the Premiership, Pontypool will be playing their rugby in the Championship again next term.

Treorchy maintained their charge towards the title in One East Central with a 50-0 victory over Heol y Cyw.
Rhys Gillard’s brace along with two penalty tries and scores from Tristan Lazarus, Rob Jones, Jacob Lloyd and Declan Williams earned the Zebras victory – with Lloyd also booting five conversions.
However Ystrad Rhondda, who have a game in hand on Treorchy, remain seven points behind after their 41-15 home victory over Rumney.
Thomas Jevons, Ryan Howells, Aaron Clarke, Cole Swanack, Liam Wiggins and Adam Lewis (2) were the Ystrad try scorers with Rhys Truelove banging over three conversions.
In One West Central, tries from Nathan Holman and Griff Davies helped earn Bridgend Athletic a 17-6 win at Maesteg to go top, with Luke Bevan adding two conversions and a penalty.
