Thomas brings a wealth of experience to lead risk services

TRADE credit insurer Atradius has appointed Mike Thomas as head of risk services for the UK and Ireland.

Mr Thomas has nearly two decades of experience within Atradius, having joined in 1999.

Initially appointed as an underwriti­ng and recovery specialist his roles included underwriti­ng Atradius’ intensive care portfolio.

Mr Thomas then became responsibl­e for managing higher risk multinatio­nals within the automotive, IT and industrial sectors.

This internatio­nal remit included leading teams in the US, Paris, Antwerp and Atradius’ UK headquarte­rs in Cardiff before he returned to a special risks role within the UK.

For the last two-and-a-half years, Mr Thomas has broadened his scope within Atradius, heading up the risk services Global Platform, optimising the firm’s risk offering for large multinatio­nal companies.

He takes on the role from Marc Henstridge who is now Atradius’ chief insurance operations officer.

Mr Thomas said: “I am excited by the opportunit­y to lead the risk team in the UK and Ireland; the knowledge and experience within the team are unrivalled and I want to build upon this to ensure that Atradius continues to be the best service provider in the market.”
