Deliveroo gears up to expand its presence inWales

-

ON-DEMAND food delivery service to the restaurant sector Deliveroo is expanding in Wales.

The delivery service is currently available in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea – and next month it will launch in Bangor and Abersytwyth, in a move creating 100 new jobs.

Deliveroo has created work for more than 200 people since launching in Wales in 2015, with most recruits being riders delivering food orders to the doorstep of customers.

In Wales it works with restaurants including Giovanni’s, Peppermint, Five Guys, Magic Wrap and The Grazing Shed.

More than 120 restaurants across Wales have already signed up to the service, with 60% being independent restaurants.

Deliveroo – which last year created £200m in additional revenue for the UK restaurant industry – will be creating 50 posts in both Bangor and Aberystwyth.

It said it is looking for riding enthusiasts who enjoy cycling as a hobby or those looking for a way to keep fit while making some extra money.

Caroline Hazlehurst, general manager at Deliveroo, said: “We launched in Cardiff, our first Welsh city, in 2015 and since then we have expanded to Newport and Swansea, with a selection of great local restaurant partners.

“Ahead of our launch in Bangor and Aberystwyth next month, the team is looking for people with passion, drive and great customer service, who are seeking the added benefit of flexible hours amongst other perks.”
