TWO teenagers yesterday became the latest of five people to be arrested on suspicion of murder after a 37-year-old man died from stab wounds.

North Wales Police were called to a property in Prince Edward Avenue, Rhyl, at around 3am on Sunday following reports of a “violent disturbance”.

A man from the Manchester area had received stab wounds following an incident at the property and, despite efforts to save him, was pronounced dead at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd shortly after.

A 15-year-old male, a 16-year-old male and a 43-yearold man, all from Rhyl, were arrested the same day on suspicion of murder and public order offences.

Two more youths, aged 16 and 17, were yesterday arrested on suspicion of murder and public order offences.

Five men from outside north Wales have also been arrested on suspicion of public order offences.

Officers from North Wales Police were granted extensions of 36 hours by magistrates in Llandudno yesterday afternoon to allow the continued questioning of the 10 men in custody.

DCI Simon Williams said: “At this time we are not looking for any more suspects as part of our investigation.

“However, I continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to call us.”

DCI Williams thanked the public for their support in the investigation.

Speaking previously, North Wales Police Supt Sian Black described the incident as “shocking”.

She added: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this extremely difficult time.

“I would like to reassure the public not to be alarmed by the increased police activity in Rhyl as we carry out our investigations.

“There will also be extra reassurance patrols in the area.”
