Aggressive Leanne Wood puts off voters

-

I WRITE with reference to the BBC’s Question Time political debate on May 4.

It is surprising that anybody votes for Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood, judging by this performance.

First she accuses Theresa May of an aggressive attitude against the EU and then supports the EU, who are expressing (I quote) “a perfectly reasonable behaviour”.

She then accuses the British of having a superior attitude to Europe.

It’s the pot calling the kettle black. In my opinion nobody is more aggressive than the Plaid leader when political debate is in progress.

Yes, of course you put your manifesto forward, but it’s the aggressive attitude that puts the electorate off.

Wood kept interrupting David Davis with questions like “why is homelessness growing?” and referring to “the increase in people attending food banks”.

My experience over the years has proved that a percentage of homeless people prefer to be homeless. Further experience of food banks or charities that help people with their own giving of food has proved that a percentage of those being helped sell it so they can purchase drugs for themselves.

Another hot potato for Wood is immigration. When an audience member on Question Time brought up the numbers coming into the small island of Britain, immediately the Plaid leader stated forcefully: “But we need these people, we need more doctors and nurses.” I agree that the UK needs more doctors and nurses and other medical professionals, but we don’t need as many as the population of the city of Newcastle (350,000 plus).

Oh, by the way, Leanne, I am sure coming out of Europe will be much better for us financially!

There are 30 EU commissioners. Each has a team of 18 minimum. One in five European officials earn more than £142,000, so what do the commissioners earn?

No wonder Mr Jean-Claude Juncker and his entourage want us to stay, being one of the main contributors financially. Mr M Stafford
