Sam Gould ‘has months’ but vows to beat cancer

-

A WELL-KNOWN political campaigner who has been diagnosed with bowel cancer has been told he has months to live. But Sam Gould, 33, pictured, who organised Ukip’s election campaign in Wales last year which resulted in seven of the party’s candidates becoming AMs, says he is determined to be positive and beat the cancer.

On a previous video he told people to look for the warning signs of bowel cancer and go to the doctor at once.

Now he’s posted a new video, in which he says: “Unfortunately I came in for an outpatient appointment, and I found out that I am too unwell for chemo and too unwell to go home. But fingers crossed I’ll be going home later today. I was very, very sick.”

But after praising the NHS and its staff at the Royal Gwent Hospital, in Newport, the father of three says: “I’ve got a free wheelchair courtesy of the Red Cross on loan. I’m really grateful to them – I’m going to give them a nice donation to say thank you. And I’m going to get a blue badge. What about that? I’m going to get a disabled badge – I won’t have to wait until I’m old and invalid. I’m young and invalid now. So that means nice accessible parking at supermarkets, free parking in loads of town centres.

“And you know I’ve been campaigning – well, some of you do – to get rid of the Severn Bridge tolls for several years. I’m going to have free Severn Bridge crossing as well with that blue badge.”
