Broomfield & Alexander snaps up Agincourt in merger

-

INDEPENDENT accountancy and advisory firm Broomfield & Alexander has expanded with the acquisition of Agincourt Practice Ltd.

The Monmouth-based practice will become Broomfield & Alexander’s fourth office – after Swansea, Newport and Cardiff.

It will continue to provide the core services while increasing its offering in specialist areas for existing clients across the border region.

The merger will see 10 new members of staff join Broomfield & Alexander. In total the four offices will have a workforce of 115.

The value of the deal has not been disclosed.

Agincourt’s director Neil Mounter is set to retire later this year but will continue to support its existing clients during the merger phase with Broomfield & Alexander.

Ian Thomas, managing director of Broomfield & Alexander, said: “Agincourt has successfully supported clients in and around Monmouth for almost 50 years and its professionalism and expertise mirrors our core ethos and approach to work.”

The merger is the firm’s third in recent years, following Neath-based WR King & Co in October 2014 and Griffiths & Miles in April 2010.

Mr Thomas said: “Strategic mergers are vital to bolstering our position as Wales’ leading independent accountancy firm, allowing us to expand our specialist services to clients in Monmouth, south-east Wales and those close to the border..”

Mr Mounter, who joined the firm in 1978, added: “I’ll be working closely with our clients over the coming months to ensure that the transition is seamless and I have every confidence that our team will flourish under the Broomfield & Alexander brand.”
