Cardiff and Vale Hospitals come top in patient satisfaction survey
THE results from the March Nuffield Health survey show that the Cardiff & Vale Hospitals came top for overall satisfaction at 98%, out of 31 Nuffield Health hospitals in the UK.
All patients – 100% – said they would recommend Nuffield Health Cardiff & Vale Hospitals to friends and family.
Every month Nuffield Health collects patient feedback data for each of the 31 hospitals in the group.
This information is used as a benchmark to highlight areas for improvement and to share good practice.
Looking at the service areas, the two Cardiff area private hospitals in the Nuffield health group scored 100% for general surgery and endoscopy and 98% for orthopaedics, ophthalmology and ear, nose and throat medicine. The welcome on arrival was 98%.
There were exceptionally high scores of 99% for confidence in consultants, nurses, matron, physiotherapists, housekeepers and 98% for caterers.
Equally, a 99% score was achieved for patients being treated with respect and dignity and for room cleanliness.
Across the board patient experience in the hospital was first class.
Comments from patients included, “A very good experience from admission to discharge. Friendly, efficient and professional staff. Overall a job well done!”; “Spotlessly clean hospital throughout. Nurses were professional, kind and efficient. Saw my consultant regularly sometimes twice a day.”; “Fantastic experience all round, all staff were really friendly and made my daughter feel at ease. The food was fantastic and at reasonable prices, facilities are like a five-star hotel. I would recommend to everyone.”
Matron Melanie WebberMaybank commented: “I am delighted with the results of the monthly survey, which show a consistent trend of high scores.
“Where improvements can be made, we like to know, so we can act on this feedback to deliver even higher patient satisfaction.
“I would like to thank and congratulate the team on this fantastic achievement which clearly demonstrates that we are working together as a strong team, doing things right for patients.”
