Work set to begin on fans ‘posh campsite’

-

WORK is set to begin on a “posh campsite” for fans visiting Cardiff for the Uefa Champions League final in a fortnight’s time.

The site, being built on Portcanna Fields, can hold up to 2,000 tents for fans flocking to the capital to see Juventus take on Real Madrid on June 3.

But with hotels costing up to nearly £5,000 a night, visitors have been booking up pitches from business Campingninja on a site just a stone’s throw from the stadium.

The cheapest option is the high quality pre-pitched tents for up to eight people, but the most popular choice for fans has been for two adults in a two-person tent, which costs £300 for three nights.

These include access to on-site bars, restaurants, hot showers, charging points and the tents, with beds, pillows and sleeping bags all being included.

And the final in the capital will also see the launch of Campingninja’s luxury section, Area 38.

Guests that choose to go VIP have access to their own high quality showers and toilets, a Giant Tipi VIP bar, a food and social area, free phone charging and breakfast.

Rhian Evans, Camping Ninja co-founder and technical director, said the Area 38 rooms were for those who wanted an alternative to traditional preconceptions of camping,

She said: “We love the Hotel Pod Rooms, as they provide a great alternative to camping.

“They are small lockable rooms, which contain USB chargers and LED lighting, as well as proper beds with comfy mattresses.
