Three in court over terror plot
THREE men have appeared in court over a terror plot allegedly inspired by Khalid Masood’s attack in Westminster.
Umar Ahmed Haque, Muhammad Abid and Abuthaher Mamun, from east London, were arrested as part of an investigation by MI5 and the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command on May 17.
They were allegedly planning to use a vehicle in a similar attack to Masood, who killed five people with a car and stabbed Pc Keith Palmer to death outside Parliament on March 22.
Haque is accused of having a list of possible targets in the capital, including tourist attractions.
The trio appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
