Man, 20, dies after ‘stabbing’

-

A 20-YEAR-OLD man has died after allegedly being stabbed in Connah’s Quay on Monday.

Officers were called to a property in Bethel Place in the town shortly before 8pm on Monday following reports of a serious incident.

The man, who was not from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 48-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.

Armed officers and paramedics were seen at a block of flats in High Street at 8pm on Monday.

Police and forensic officers remained at the scene yesterday morning, with roads near the building taped off, including Bethel Place and Chapel Street.

Detective Chief Inspector Arwyn Jones, from North Wales Police, has appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

He said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this tragic incident to come forward.

“I am conscious that this incident occurred during daylight, was near to a public house and, therefore, it is likely there was a large number of people in the area at the time.

“I would ask if anybody heard anything, such as screaming, shouting, or an altercation, to please come forward.

“If you saw anything suspicious, no matter how insignificant, please contact us.”
