Three fast expanding businesses ranging from a digital marketing agency to a bakery are planning to take on more than 100 new staff between them.

The jobs are available in a variety of roles and at opposite ends of the country.

Yard – a technical marketing agency with a national and international blue chip client base – is expanding its Cardiff office and doubling staff numbers, creating 37 new jobs over the next three years.

The company currently employs 18 people at its head office in Eastgate House, Cardiff, with a further 17 members of staff in Edinburgh and London and has already attracted investment from Finance Wales.

The planned expansion, assisted by the Welsh Government, supports the company’s growth plans to increase sales by 40% over the next three years and double turnover by 2018.

Incorporated in 2006 by co-founders Paul Newbury CTO and Stephan Briggs CEO, Yard provides a range of digital services such as analytics, data and insight, search engine optimisation, web design and build.

The additional staff will be responsible for developing new business and servicing new contracts the company has secured from Rank Group, Virgin Atlantic, and Camelot and support its strategic sales strategy for further business growth.

The Village Bakery in Wrexham has launched a recruitment drive to cope with its growing order book. The award-winning bakery is creating an extra 50 jobs including 12 apprenticeships.

The positions will be spread across its three bakeries on Wrexham Industrial Estate and nearby Minera. The new recruits will take the number of people employed there up to 500.

The apprentices will be trained at the family firm’s Baking Academy and Innovation Centre which was officially opened by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Operations director Simon Thorpe said: “As part of the recruitment campaign, we’re looking to take on another 12 bakery apprentices.”

The Village Bakery makes premium breads and other baked products for major retailers and supermarkets across the UK and as far afield as Hong Kong and Singapore.

Finally, Quantum Advisory, an independent actuarial consultancy, is creating 40 new jobs as part of an expansion which has seen the firm relocate its Cardiff headquarters to larger premises in St Mellons and will increase the number of employees in the capital city to more than 90 within three years.

The company provides pension and employee benefits services to employers, scheme trustees and members. The expansion has been backed by £200,000 business finance from the Welsh Government.

Andrew Reid-Jones, partner at Quantum Advisory, said: “Our previous office was at full capacity, but as a direct result of the Welsh Government’s support we were able to move into a larger neighbouring premises.”
