We must learn to dream again
BRITAIN is not working. On every index we are now living in a “failed state”.
We have the highest gas and electricity bills in the EU
We have the highest railfares in the EU
We have the highest private rents in the EU
We have the highest prison population in Western Europe
We have the highest military spending in the EU
We have the most expensive university education in the EU
We have the lowest state pension in the EU
We have the lowest disability benefits in the EU.
We have some of the unhappiest children and young people in the world (according to the World Health Organisation).
If we were a poor country, maybe we might accept having a worse life than our parents and grandparents, but Britain is the sixth largest economy on the face of the earth.
The money hasn’t run out. It’s just it’s in the wrong hands, with the wrong people, in the wrong place, doing the wrong thing. We have to take the money back, and take the power back. For the last 30 years governments have become ‘dis-imagination machines’ drilling into the minds of the population ‘there is no alternative’. On June 8 we must learn to dream again. Vote out the Tories.
